  •  Due to the nature of the materials such as standard coil springs, boxed springs, innersprings and pocket springs combined stretchy materials such as foam and fabric. 1cm – 4cm tolerance/variance can happen when ordering a non standard size

Body Impressions:

Body impressions (small indentations) are normal on the surface of any new mattress whilst upholstery filling is levelling to its final position and adapting to your own body contours. Whether this constitutes a manufacturing fault is at the discretion of Oceania Mattress.

On a pillow-top mattress up to 35-50mm height loss is considered normal. On a non pillow-top mattress up to 25-30mm height loss is considered normal.

To determine whether there are grounds for a warranty claim the impressions must be measured. This is done by removing all bedding and covering on the mattress and placing a straight edge across the bed across the bed, after which the gap underneath is then measured – you may be asked to measure this if claiming warranty

Care & Maintenance Instructions:

All mattresses should be rotated on a regular basis to minimise impressions and ensure your mattress settles evenly. Standard single sided mattresses should be rotated 180 degrees, and it is recommended the mattress be rotated every 2 weeks for the first month after purchase, and then once a month continuing for the duration of the warranty period.

Double sided/reversible mattresses should follow the same instructions however should additionally be flipped at the time of rotation. A failure to rotate the mattress will void all future warranty.

All mattresses must have a waterproof mattress protector on at all times from date of purchase. This is to help keep the mattress in a sanitary condition and prevent stains and moisture build up from reaching the mattress. Should a mattress protector not be used it will likely result in the warranty being void due to improper maintenance of the mattress.

Your mattress is not made to bend any circumstances due to the intricate construction and quality of materials used. If required the mattress may flex rather than bend when going through doorways, etc. It is advisable to keep off edges of your new mattress for extended and prolonged periods of time. Intense weight concentration such as jumping or standing on any mattress is not recommended. Failure to follow the recommended guidelines will cause warranties to be voided.

Mattress & Bed Base Warranty Information:

Oceania Mattress Factory mattresses are suitable for use with flat slat bases.

Correct support for your new mattress is essential to providing a long life for the mattress, as a mattress will always follow the contour of which it rests on. If placed on a base that dips down and/or bows under load these warranties may be void.

Additionally, bases which dip and/or bow allow a mattress to sag, causing top quilting to wrinkle, affecting the appearance and feel of your mattress.

Sleepers may experience roll together without adequate support, some alternate posture slat or sprung type bases may require a centre rail to prevent bowing, particularly in double, queen and king sizes. Timber slats must be a smooth finish to prevent splintering and scuffing on the mattress underside – it is advisable to use a breathable cover over the slats for prolonged use.

Important Note: Gaps between uncovered slats must not exceed 10cm. Gaps between covered slats must not exceed 14cm. Anything exceeding this does not adequately support the spring system and will void any future warranty.
